My Experience of College Ka Pehla Din
I was very nervous and excited on the day of college ka pehla din. I had passed my 12th class exams with good marks and got admission in a reputed college in another city. I had always dreamed of studying in a college and exploring new opportunities. I had packed my bags and left my home with my parents a few days before the college started. I had rented a room near the college campus and stayed there with my parents for some days.
On the day of college ka pehla din, I woke up early and got ready. I wore a new dress and carried a new bag with new books. I was eager to see the college and meet my classmates. I had breakfast with my parents and left for the college at 11:00 am. I was wondering what kind of atmosphere and people I would find in the college. I was happy but also a bit anxious as I had never seen the college environment before.
When I reached near the college, I saw a big gate with a small gate in the middle that was open. I looked inside and saw many students there. Some of them were new like me and some were old students. They were talking and laughing with each other. Even the girls were very friendly and cheerful with each other. I felt alone and out of place.
After some time, I asked someone who was standing near me about my class. He told me the location and direction of my class. I thanked him and went inside with my books in my hands. When I reached my class, I saw many students there. Some were boys and some were girls. I looked around and estimated that there were about 60 to 70 students in the class. I found an empty chair near the window and sat there.
I saw that one of my friends from my school was also in the same college. He was sitting on the other side of the class. I felt happy to see him as he was the only person I knew in the class. I went to him and said hello to him. He was surprised and happy to see me too. He asked me to sit next to him. We talked for some time until our teacher entered the class.
We all stood up and greeted him. He sat on his chair and called out our names from his register. He did not call out my name as I was a new admission. He closed his register and I stood up. I said sir you did not call out my name. He asked me what is your name?
I told him my name and he wrote it down on his register. He then asked me about my previous school, my marks, my hobbies, and my ambitions. He seemed to be very friendly and encouraging. He told me that I had chosen a good stream and that I should work hard and study well. He also told me about the college rules, the timetable, the syllabus, and the facilities available in the college. He then gave me a badge with my name and class on it and told me to wear it always.
My First Class in College
After talking to the teacher, I followed the person who had come to take me to my class. He was a senior student and he introduced himself as Ravi. He was very helpful and kind. He showed me the way to my class and told me some tips on how to adjust in the college. He also warned me about some of the strict teachers and some of the naughty students. He said that I should be careful and respectful with everyone.
When we reached my class, he knocked on the door and entered. He told the teacher who was sitting on his desk that I was a new student and that I had come from another city. The teacher looked at me and smiled. He asked me to come forward and introduce myself to the class. I felt nervous and shy as I walked towards the front of the class. I saw that everyone was looking at me with curiosity and interest.
I stood near the teacher's desk and said hello to everyone. I told them my name, my previous school, my city, and my stream. I also said that I was happy to join this college and that I hoped to make good friends here. The teacher then asked me to sit on an empty seat next to a girl who was smiling at me. I thanked him and went to sit there.
The girl who was sitting next to me introduced herself as Priya. She was very friendly and talkative. She asked me many questions about myself and my family. She also told me about herself and her friends. She said that she was also a medical student and that she wanted to become a doctor like her father. She said that she liked this college very much and that she had many good teachers and friends here.
The teacher then started his lecture on biology. He wrote some notes on the board and explained them with examples. He also asked some questions to the students and praised them for their answers. He seemed to be very knowledgeable and experienced in his subject. He also cracked some jokes in between his lecture and made everyone laugh.
I listened to his lecture attentively and tried to understand everything he said. I also took some notes in my notebook and copied some diagrams from the board. I found his lecture very interesting and informative. I also answered one of his questions correctly and he appreciated me for that.
I felt happy and confident in my first class in college. I realized that college was not so bad after all. It was a place where I could learn new things, meet new people, and pursue my dreams. d282676c82
